Crystal Palace made history in Leipzig as Jean-Philippe Mateta’s second-half goal secured a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in the UEFA Conference League final.
The decisive moment came in the 51st minute. Adam Wharton’s powerful effort was parried by Rayo goalkeeper Augusto Batalla, and Mateta reacted quickest to finish from close range.
Rayo Vallecano pushed for a response, but Palace held firm under late pressure. The result completed a landmark European night for the London club and delivered a major trophy in Oliver Glasner’s final match in charge.
