Suspicion of Drug Use in Death of Canadian Jessika After Cosmetic Surgery: Forensic Report Awaited

Jessika Chagnon Gailloux, a Canadian citizen who traveled to Turkey for cosmetic surgery in Antalya, died after undergoing the procedure.

As the investigation launched by authorities continues, investigators are examining whether the young woman may have used narcotic substances before her death. Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the report from the Forensic Medicine Institute.

She Became Unwell After the Operation

According to available information, Gailloux applied to a private healthcare facility in Antalya to undergo breast lift surgery (mastopexy) and a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) for aesthetic purposes. After the operation, she was placed under observation in her hospital room.

Shortly afterward, her condition reportedly deteriorated suddenly.

Despite the rapid intervention of medical teams, Jessika Chagnon Gailloux could not be saved. Following the incident, police officers arrived at the hospital to conduct initial examinations, while the prosecutor’s office launched a formal investigation.

Possible Drug Use Under Investigation

As part of the investigation, authorities are also reviewing the victim’s health condition before the operation and her activities in the days leading up to her death.

Investigators are currently trying to determine whether she had consumed narcotic substances before she died.

Gailloux’s body was transferred to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the precise cause of death.
